It determines how large the power supply or control must be and which cable cross-section is needed.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">sizing the power supply correctly<\/h2>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Add up the current consumption of all actuators moving at the same time<\/li><li>add about 20\u201330 % reserve<\/li><li>Example: 4 actuators \u00d7 1.0 A = 4.0 A, with reserve a power supply of approx. 5 A or more<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Where is the value stated?<\/h2>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the actuator data sheet, often as rated current. Some manufacturers also state the short-term starting current.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Frequently asked questions<\/h2>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Do 230 V actuators need a power supply?<\/h3>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No, they are connected directly to the mains. The current consumption is still important for fusing and switches.<\/p>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What happens if the power supply is too small?<\/h3>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The actuators run slowly, jerk or stop, and the power supply may switch off.
