Many 24 V window actuators are controlled this way: one polarity opens, the other closes.

How it works

Two-core connection: e.g. plus on core 1 = OPEN, plus on core 2 = CLOSE

the control or a ventilation button reverses the polarity

in the end positions the actuator switches off by itself (limit switch-off)

Important

Actuators that run together on one control must be connected identically. If one is reversed, it moves in the wrong direction. The core assignment is shown in the actuator wiring diagram.

Frequently asked questions

Does this also apply to 230 V actuators?

No. 230 V actuators usually have separate cores for OPEN and CLOSE and a common neutral conductor.

My actuator runs the wrong way – what can I do?

With polarity-reversal actuators, swap the two motor cores. Radio controls often have a setting to reverse the direction, on the VS-C24-7A for example via a button combination.

Glossary: Limit switch-off

Glossary: Ventilation button

Guide: Connecting a chain actuator

Not sure which actuator fits?
