The brand does not have to be the same. For the 60 mm octagonal shaft, for example, the A-OK AM45 fits from \u20ac65 net, for the 40 mm shaft the A-OK AM35.<\/p>\n<p>Somfy is a registered trademark of Somfy SAS. Plan for a new hand transmitter.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Bracket:<\/strong> The motor bracket on the shutter box may be different. Check how the old motor is fixed before removing it.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Adapters:<\/strong> Drive adapter and crown must fit the shaft.<\/li>\n<li><strong>End positions:<\/strong> On the new motor you set the end positions again, see <a href=\"\/en\/dictionary\/end-position-cut-off\/\">Limit switch-off<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Frequently asked questions<\/h2>\n<h3>Can I replace a Somfy motor with another brand?<\/h3>\n<p>Yes. What matters is shaft diameter, torque and operation, not the brand. A radio hand transmitter of the old brand usually does not work with the new motor.<\/p>\n<h3>What does a replacement tubular motor cost?<\/h3>\n<p>At Vent Systems a tubular motor for the 60 mm shaft costs from \u20ac65 net with wall switch and from \u20ac100 net with radio. Installation by a qualified electrician may be added.<\/p>\n<h3>May I replace the motor myself?<\/h3>\n<p>Skilled DIYers can do the mechanical removal.
