Controlling more than 7 window actuators: how it works

Dietmar Heiken

Chain actuator VS-KA / VS-KA-i with bracket, side view

In short: The VS-C24-7A control unit powers up to 7 actuators. For more windows, use several control units – how to plan groups, switches and sensors.

The VS-C24-7A ventilation control supplies 7 A at 24 V and powers up to 7 actuators depending on current consumption. If more windows are to open electrically, split the actuators across several control units.

How to plan several groups

  • Up to 7 actuators per control unit, for example per room or façade side
  • Each group gets its own switch or radio remote control
  • Rain and wind sensors can close each group automatically
  • The total current of all actuators in a group must not exceed 7 A

Example

For 12 transom lights in a hall, plan two control units with 6 actuators each. Both groups can be operated separately by switch.

Suitable ventilation controls, push buttons and sensors can be found in the category Window controls.

Frequently asked questions

How many actuators fit on one VS-C24-7A?

Up to 7 actuators, as long as the total current consumption of all actuators does not exceed 7 A.

Can I operate several controls together?

Each control is operated with its own buttons or remotes. Whether one remote can be paired with several controls at the same time is something we are happy to clarify for your project – give us a call.

Do I need a building management system for many windows?

Not necessarily – several controls in groups are often enough. For central control of large buildings there are the smart i-series actuators with Modbus interface.
