How do I find the right replacement drive in 4 steps?
- Read the type plate: Manufacturer, type, voltage (24 V or 230 V), force in newtons and stroke in millimetres.
- Determine the drive type: Chain drive (chain extends from the housing) or linear/spindle drive (push rod extends).
- Choose the alternative: For chain drives, the best match is usually the VS-KA, for spindle drives the VS LA. Same or higher force, same stroke.
- Check installation: Check installation dimensions and brackets using our data sheet. The original manufacturer's brackets do not fit 1:1.
What do I need to consider for SHEV windows?
Smoke and heat exhaust systems are subject to additional requirements: as a rule, the window must open fully within 60 seconds, and the combination of window, drive and SHEV control panel must be verified. In these cases, coordinate the replacement with the installer or an expert.
Zugelassene NRWG: Bei zugelassenen natürlichen Rauch- und Wärmeabzugsgeräten (NRWG nach EN 12101-2) kann ein Antriebstausch die Zulassung aufheben. Tausch nur nach Rücksprache mit dem Fensterhersteller oder einem Sachkundigen.
Are there drives that cannot be replaced directly?
Yes. Short-stroke drives for scissor-type fanlight openers and 230 V linear drives currently have no direct counterpart at Vent Systems. Very flat designChain drives can technically be replaced, but the VS-KA is somewhat larger. Contact us – there is often an economical solution with a chain drive.
