Skylight drive: electric skylight openers for windows

Skylights are usually located high up and can only be operated manually with a lever or ladder. An electric skylight opener replaces the mechanical opener and allows ventilation via push button, timer program, or sensor – in stairwells also in conjunction with smoke and heat exhaust ventilation systems.

Suitable drives

• VS-KA chain drive – compact, 24 V or 230 V, for most skylights.
• VS-CKA 300 built-in chain drive – concealed in the profile if the drive is not to be visible.
• VS-ZA 800 rack-and-pinion drive – for wide or heavy skylight sashes and long strokes.
• VS-MKA mechanical chain drive – as a manual solution without a power connection.

Choice tips

• Clarify the opening direction (inwards/outwards) and the hinge side before making your selection.
• For installations at a high height, plan the cable routing and button position.
• Several skylights can be accessed via a steering head towards them together.
• To replace mechanical skylight openers, record sash dimensions and existing mounting.

Note regarding smoke and heat exhaust ventilation (SHEV): Vent Systems supplies actuators and ventilation controls, not smoke control panels. For use in smoke and heat exhaust ventilation systems, the actuator, the window and an approved smoke control panel must be matched to one another and verified for each project.
