Roof window drive: Window motors for roof and skylights

Roof windows are often difficult to reach – an electric drive makes them operable via push button, timer, or sensor. In commercial and public buildings, roof windows also frequently serve for smoke and heat extraction. Suitable drives

• VS-KA chain drive – 250 N to 1,500 N, chain length 100 to 1,000 mm, 24 V or 230 V; the first choice for most roof windows.
• VS-DKA 800 double-chain drive – for wide wings that are to be pressed evenly at two points.
• VS-LA linear actuator – for heavy roof panels with high loads.
• VS-KA-i smart chain drive – with enhanced control functions.

Choice tips

• With slanted windows, a large part of the sash weight acts on the drive – choose a force with a reserve.
• The chain length (stroke) is determined by the wing height and opening angle; use the Chain length calculator.
• For automatic ventilation, the following are suitable Wind and rain sensor and VS-C24-7A controller to.
• 230V drives for simple single windows, 24V for groups, sensor control and smoke and heat exhaust ventilation (SHEV).
