Wiring the VS-C24-7A: terminals, switch, sensor and remote

Dietmar Heiken

VS-C24-7A control unit for window drives & roller shutters

In short: Wiring the VS-C24-7A: terminals AC IN, DC MOTOR, 12 V and CONTROL, connecting a switch and wind/rain sensor, pairing remotes, reversing the direction.

The VS-C24-7A ventilation control supplies 24 V window actuators from the 230 V mains and controls them by reversing the polarity. This guide summarises the terminal assignment, wiring and settings from the operating manual. The mains connection may only be made by a qualified electrician.

Terminal assignment

  • AC IN (L, N): mains supply 100–240 V AC, 50/60 Hz.
  • DC MOTOR (M+/-, M-/+): output 24 V DC / 7 A for up to 7 actuators in parallel, for example VS-KA 250 or 400.
  • 12V DC (12V, GND): supply for a wind, rain or light sensor with 12 V DC, max. 0.3 A.
  • CONTROL (STOP, DOWN, UP): inputs for an external switch and for the sensor’s switching output.

Wiring step by step

  • Switch off the power and secure it against being switched back on.
  • Connect the actuators to M+/- and M-/+. If an actuator runs the wrong way, reverse the direction or swap the two wires.
  • Connect an external switch to GND, STOP, DOWN and UP.
  • Connect a wind or rain sensor to 12V and GND and to the control input. In wind or rain the control closes the windows.
  • Connect the mains to L and N and switch on. The indicator lamp on the unit shows that it is ready.

Pairing a radio remote control

Press the STOP button on the unit for 7 seconds until the indicator flashes. Within 10 seconds press the UP button on the remote. When the indicator flashes three times quickly, the remote is paired. The control uses 433.92 MHz and accepts up to 20 remotes.

Delete a single remote: press the STOP button on the unit for 7 seconds, then within 10 seconds press the DOWN button on the remote.

Direction and jog mode

Reverse the direction: press UP and DOWN on the unit at the same time for 7 seconds until the indicator flashes three times quickly.

Switch between jog and continuous mode: press UP and STOP on the unit at the same time for 7 seconds. In jog mode a short press (up to 1.5 seconds) moves the actuator step by step, a longer press continuously.

Important notes

  • Motor running time is limited to a maximum of 5 minutes.
  • Mount the receiver at least 1.5 m above the floor and not on metal. Radio range is up to 60 m in open air.
  • Use flexible cables and make sure there is no tension on the cables.
  • The VS-C24-7A is intended for daily comfort ventilation. For more than 7 actuators there is a separate guide.

With long cables to the actuators the voltage drops. How long the cable may be for each cross-section is shown in the table in the glossary entry Cable cross-section.

Suitable ventilation controls, push buttons and sensors can be found in the category Window controls.

Frequently asked questions

How many actuators can the VS-C24-7A control?

Up to 7 actuators, depending on current consumption. The control supplies 7 A at 24 V – the total of all connected actuators must not exceed this value.

How do I pair a radio remote control?

Press the STOP button on the control for 7 seconds, then press the UP button on the remote within 10 seconds. Up to 20 remotes can be paired.

What is the range of the radio remote?

Up to 60 m at 433.92 MHz. Walls and ceilings reduce the range; mount the receiver at least 1.5 m above the floor.

Can I also connect a wall button?

Yes, via the STOP, DOWN and UP control terminals. The actuators can then be operated by radio and by button.

What is the maximum running time of the actuators?

The control limits the motor running time to a maximum of 5 minutes at a time.

What if the actuator runs the wrong way?

The direction can be reversed by pressing UP and DOWN together for 7 seconds. Details are in the direction section above.
