A Rain sensor detects precipitation on a heated sensor surface and sends a signal to the control unit. The control unit then closes open windows, roof windows or rooflights so that no water gets in.
Why is the sensor surface heated?
The heating dries the surface quickly after rain. The sensor therefore does not report rain for hours, and dew or frost do not trigger false alarms.
Which rain sensor fits?
The VS-RS rain sensor works with the control unit VS-C24-7A. If you also want to measure wind and brightness, use the VS-WRLS-wind-rain-light sensor.
- Mount it under open sky, not under a roof overhang
- Sensor surface slightly inclined so that water runs off
- Clear leaves and dirt from the surface now and then
