A Top-hung sash is a window sash that is hinged at the top and opens outwards. It is often found in façades, glass roofs and conservatories. Because it opens outwards, it protects well against rain when the window is slightly open.
Top-hung or bottom-hung sash?
On a bottom-hung sash the hinge is at the bottom and the sash tilts inwards. On a top-hung sash it is at the top and the sash opens outwards. For the actuator this means: on a top-hung sash it pushes the sash outwards against its own weight, and wind adds further forces.
Which actuator fits?
- VS-KA for normal façade sashes
- VS-KA-i or VS-DKA 800 for wide sashes
- VS-KA 2500 for very heavy sashes
